Since opening in 1999, DoggyWalker.com has cared for thousands of pets in Alexandria and Arlington, Virginia. Our dog walking and pet sitting staff are lifelong pet owners, animal lovers, and experienced animal care providers who will help your pet(s) maintain a normal routine in your home environment.  We hire them as employees and supply them with the training and tools necessary to provide a professional level of pet care.

In Alexandria, Kate Reich has been working for DoggyWalker.com since August 2016, starting out as a midday caregiver.  As her route quickly grew (the more visits the better!), and over the years, she has led DoggyWalker.com’s recruitment and hiring efforts for both the Alexandria and Arlington teams, as well as business development, employee training, pandemic response, and more.  When given the opportunity to become the owner DoggyWalker.com in March 2022, she jumped at the chance and has many plans for process and infrastructural improvements in the coming years.

Kate is a resident of Alexandria in the Del Ray neighborhood where she lives with her husband, Warren, and their two pups; BuBu and LuLu.  Fun fact: BuBu came to live with Kate and Warren in May 2019 but Kate has known BuBu since he was a puppy as he was a regular on her route!  BuBu’s first family relocated out of the country and asked Kate and Warren to welcome BuBu into their home, an emotional question that was answered without hesitation!  LuLu was adopted from the Animal Welfare League of Alexandria in October 2019 and is a special needs pup, one who requires a lot of intervention to manage her epileptic disorder.  It is a motley crew at the house!  Kate and Warren have also been pet parents to Tank, Diva, Nikki, and Mischa.  Through her pet parent experiences, she has learned many skills such as basic obedience training, medication management including injections, tick removal, surgery recovery, wound management, and more!  Kate is also a certified professional pet sitter by the National Association of Professional Pet Sitters and is a Fear Free™ Certified Professional Pet Sitter. Kate hails from New Mexico and has earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Women’s Studies as well as a Master of Business Administration.  As a child and teen, she cared for many of her neighbors’ pets and homes while they were away.  Her previous work experiences in the non-profit sector and in a corporate setting working for a mid-size market radio group have helped her develop many operational, business, and communication skills, but it all comes down to her love of animals, how she never, ever, meets an animal she doesn’t already consider a friend and her loyalty to DoggyWalker.com that endear her to leading the company on a bright path and ensuring your pets feel loved by their DoggyWalker.com friends!
